THANKSGIVING STARTS WITH A RUN

Before you dive into that turkey and stuffing you might want to burn some calories first. Thanksgiving Day races in Georgia continue to be a holiday tradition and more and more choices are becoming available. This year there are more than 10 on the calendar. Almost half of those are half marathons (those runners will be eating really well later). Don't worry, there are plenty of 5K and 10K races as well. So if you don't want to feel guilty about that chocolate cake or second serving of turkey then grab a run then grab a plate.

Check out the www.RunGeorgia.com calendar for a race near you.

COACH MIKE MEAD MONTHLY ARTICLE

FALL RUNNING

The month of November brings some changes in the life of a runner here in Georgia and the South. From falling leaves and temperatures to decreasing daylight, runners have to adjust to how they run and when they run.

What is nice about running this time of year is that if you can get out to run midday or afternoon, the weather is not going to be dreadfully hot and humid. A runner can feel like they can jump out, get a good run in, and actually enjoy it.
