Atlanta Track Club

Founded in 1964, the Atlanta Track Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and fitness, through programs of amateur road racing, cross-country, and track & field, in the spirit of fun and competition. The ATC holds several low-key events throughout the year, but also puts on the famous Peachtree Road Race and the Atlanta Marathon and Half Marathon.

Carpet Capital Running Club
About: The Dalton Track Club was formed in 1982. The name was soon changed to the Carpet Capital Running Club (CCRC) and the club grew to include recreational as well as competitive runners. The club organizes several running events as well as events to support the community. Currently the club has 93 single and family memberships. This includes 40 family spouse members to bring the clubs total adult membership to 133.

Founded in 2003 and have a membership of about 40 with a wide range of ages and abilities. We host 3 races annually, Halloween Moonlight Run 5K, Blake Gammill 5K, and SweetH20 50K & Half Marathon. South DeKalb Striders Running Club

The Striders became a certified running club in March 1990 with 12 charter members. The Striders biggest event is the annual 5K For Hope Road Race held the fourth Saturday of August. The proceeds from this road race are used to benefit Our House, a child care facility for homeless children. The Striders host a fellowship run in South DeKalb with the South Fulton Running Partners in the spring of each year and are invited by the Running Partners to a South Fulton location in the fall.

About:
We meet Saturdays and Sundays at 7AM at the Greenway- Forsyth County- Bethelview Rd. lot, and Tuesday's at 7PM at the Greenway- Forsyth Cty., Bethelview Rd. lot. In the event the Greenway is closed- we meet at the store with the exception of lightening, in which case group run is cancelled. You can also find us on Facebook where you will find weekly updates and reminders for the group runs. Our groups are for ALL abilities, whether you are just starting to run, training for your first 5K, or going for your next PR in a half or full marathon. We have many varying paces- so you will be sure to find someone that fits your pace! Everyone is welcome to run at their own pace and distance. Dewar Elementary Running Club
About:
Dewar Elementary's Running Club has been in existence for years. The goal of our running club is help spark an interest in running among elementary aged children. Hopefully, it will become a life-long activity for our students. The club meets once a week at school. We have an average of 60 students who participate each week. For students who wish to further develop their running skills, we meet 4 additional times a week outside of school. During those sessions, we work on trail running, speed, and distance. Members are encouraged to participate in local 5-k races throughout the year. As a culminating activity, we hold our own 5-k race at the end of the school year.
