The Heart and Sole 5K Walk/Run will be held in downtown Augusta, Georgia.
The course will start and end at MCG Children’s Medical Center, where
numerous medical miracles take place everyday!

Heart and Sole, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that benefits MCG Children’s Medical Center Heart Program. Heart and Sole was founded in September 2006 in memory of Margaret Bowen McElreath. In July 2005, Bowen was born with a special heart. At three days old, Bowen was transported to MCG Children’s Medical Center where she became a member of the Children’s Heart Program family. Our hope is that we can help every child that has a special heart and assist their families with the best support possible.
Please join us for our 5K Walk/Run and Evening Celebration with the anticipation of many more to follow.
For more than a decade, MCG Children’s Medical Center Heart Program has been delivering outstanding medical and surgical care to thousands of children with special hearts. Funding raised through the Children’s Heart Program allows medical equipment to be updated and research to be performed. MCG Children’s Medical Center Heart Program evolved from the commitment of an incredible physician, Dr. Bill Strong and a dedicated mom, Mrs. Julie Moretz. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts!
